 SEO- or search engine optimization, is a crucial part of digital marketing. SEO revolves around optimizing a website and its content in order to rank well on search queries. Having a website rank highly increases the visibility of the website, which in turn leads to more users. Websites that are established with high relevance and high appeal make it more desirable. When the content, and look of the website itself looks better, it is bound to garner more attention.

Understanding the words and phrases that your potential customers are searching is very important. For example, if you run an online shoe store, you will want to target people who are searching items related to specific styles of shoes you carry, and online stores instead of in-person shopping stores. These keywords ca be used to target ad placements to users searches related quires, to promote your website and services. Relevant keywords are necessary to have your ads reach consumers. There are many variations of keywords that are used for ad placements. 
    • Broad match: Searches that relate in any way to the keyword. 
    • Phrase match: Searches that include the meaning of the search.
    • Exact match: Searches that contain the exact word or exact same meaning. 

  • Onsite / Offsite SEO
Onsite SEO focuses on the appeal and look of the website. This includes the images used, and the content itself. Websites cannot rank well if content is false or the website is messy. On the other hand, offsite SEO focuses on off-page works. This includes creating backlinks to your website, and using alternative image texts on pictures. Backlinks are links to your website that are placed on other websites. Backlinks can help enhance your websites visibility by being reputable. Websites cannot increase visibility by having one user simply click on the website over and over. The clicks on a website must stem from organic areas like a customer seeing the ink on a social media platform, and clicking it to redirect them to the website.
